Caught My Breath

On the plan for yesterday morning?  8 miles.

I grudgingly woke up and immediately started talking myself out of into delaying the run.  A was persuaded to practice driving and take me to Del Taco for a couple of breakfast burritos and an iced coffee.

Luckily, when I got home, my biking buddy texted me and said she and her husband were at the gym...would I like to join them?  Somehow, knowing she was working out, broke me out of my funk.  Within an hour my running clothes were on, my Garmin was charged and my iPod was loaded (Another Mother Runner and Stuff Mom Mom Never Told You podcasts).

I didn't go to the gym. I headed outside into 27 degrees, gray skies and dry sidewalks.

My right calf has been feeling great.  I took it easy, avoiding the pace on my Garmin and running what felt good.  The last 4 miles were into the wind and my quads were freezing.

If your legs never warm up on a run, do you need an ice bath afterwards?

8 miles. 1:20:37.

During the half mile walk home, I switch from podcasts to music.

So darn proud of myself for getting this 8 miler completed, Catch My Breath by Kelly Clarkson came on.

No one can hold me back, I ain't got time for that.

Very glad I didn't hold myself back.  Sometimes the hardest part of the run is changing out of PJs into a running skirt.

Plan for the Week
Monday:  Yoga
Tuesday:  4 miles/spin/abs
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday:  4 miles/spin/abs
Friday:  3 miles
Saturday: Rest
Sunday:  Rock N Roll Arizona Half Marathon (State #19)

Great job for getting out there. I always think my best workouts are the ones that I put off and dread.

The runs that you fight the most end up being the ones you're the proudest of. Great job!
