December in Review

Miles Planned/Ran: 81/62.  Just couldn't get all of my long runs in.  Lowest mileage month of 2012.

Yoga/Stretch workouts planned/completed:  5/4. 

Non-workout days Planned/Taken: 9/11.  Hopefully all this rest won't be too detrimental in January.

Half Marathons planned/completed: 0/0.

Highest Mileage Week:  26.  Thanks to local running friends, I could tag along and get at least one good week (the last one) in this month.

Long Runs Planned/Ran: 4/2.  Once again, thanks to running buddies, or I could have had zero for the month.  The cold and dark make me want to curl up and go back to bed.

Spin Class Workouts Planned/Spun: 4/3.

Weight (Abs) Circuits:  5/4.  

New 2 Me Cross Training:  Totally Toned (circuit training class at the Y).  My 12th new cross training of the year.  I need to get back to it again.

Current Ache/Pain:  My right Achilles/ankle is the pain of the month, still.  I'm making sure to ice after each run.  Overall, it feels better, but I think that's due to my reduced mileage.

Current Book (s):  I'll be reading A is for Alibi by Grafton this weekend, since L recommended it.

Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich was a fun, quick read over the holidays.  I am a huge Ranger fan.
  
Current Wish List:  Patience.
  
Current Drink: Water.  Can I give up Diet Pepsi for the month?

Current Gratitude:  You hear me write about it all the time, but I am so thankful for my local running friends.  This past month was tough and I needed the accountability.  When you have someone to meet, you don't want to be the one to cancel.

Current Dislike (s):  I miss 2012 already.  There's a threat request that I limit my race travel to just five new states a year.  I'm already signed up for six in 2013, and I'd really like to get at least one double in August or October.  Time to work on my negotiating skills.

Current Goal:  To run smart in January and acknowledge how much my training has dropped off.

Current Treat:  No treats in January!  However,  A made the best caramel covered brownies from scratch for New Year's Eve.

Current Excitement: S and I are off to Mississippi tomorrow.  I'm running the Mississippi Blues Half (state #18) on Saturday with Elizabeth.  After the race, we head to Miami, where the Ducks should have been playing in the National Championship game.

Anyone else miss 2012?

Have fun in Mississippi! I hope that your negotiating skills work some magic so that you can complete more than 6 states in the new year. I need to live through your traveling adventures!

You are super lucky to have such great running friends and support system from them.

ahh. finally catching up and now i see. trust me, i understand the limit. sadly, mine is my own. i’m jealous of your local running friends. i don’t see mine as much anymore now that i am training harder.
