Three Things Thursday

1.  Finally, the big day is here.  A's Lady Bulldogs are in the Final 8 Basketball playoffs.  The state tournament will take place at Matthew Knight Arena at the University of Oregon.  S had special shirts made for the girls.

Very clever.
2.  Yesterday, I ran my longest run, post down for the count illness.  Seven miles, midweek, in the rain and the wind and cold, by myself.  The rain was relentless, I didn't wear gloves (wet gloves are the worst) so my hands were freezing by the end.  I couldn't see my Garmin, since it was tucked under my sleeve and I didn't want it to get wet.  I ran by feel and ended up under a 10:00 minute pace.  What a treat.  7:02/1:09:34.

3.  On Sunday, I coaxed my running buddy Lara out for 6 miles.  I used that as my 5 by the 5th run for March.  Why do the first 5 days of each month fly by so quickly?  Lara is naturally fast, so she really pushed me.  I was still congested and coughy, but kept up.  I looked down at Crash at 5.22 miles and took the average pace to come up with my 5 mile time.  Faster than January and February...5.0/10:40.

Thanks to Laura at Mommy Run Fast for hosting this challenge.  And thanks to Lara for a nice Sunday run.

Go Bulldogs!!

A's season is almost over, although i know you love watching her, I bet you'll be glad to have a little more time on your hands.
Congrats on the midweek LR, I don't think I could muster up enough motivation to run in the rain :(

Agree with LJ. I would be on the treadmill or not running at all. Rain is the worst to run in. Nice job and great pace!!

Good luck to A!

I would not run in rain or cold. I'm a pansy. You're a super hero. The fastest super hero.

Good luck to A and her team! Very cute shirt!! Great job on your two runs! I was just saying to a coworker today as the wind, rain, and snow is piling up that I would not run in this! Just miserable! But maybe it would make me run faster!

Everyone in my family has been sick for SO long. Fingers crossed that you are feeling 100%!

And, running in the rain is better than the treadmill, for me. Unless it's under 4 miles or so, & then I dreadmill-it-out. :-)

Arrived here by accident while searching for "Seize the Day" tshirts but wound up reading! Good stuff. You may have accidentally motivated me to hit the trails again. So, congrats! And good luck. Cheers!
