Three Things Thursday

1.  I finished the book Divergent in less than two days.  You must read before the movie comes out in March.

I'm saving the second book of the trilogy, Insurgent, for my plane ride to and from Phoenix this weekend.

2.  It's basketball season!  A is a Junior and their regular season games start this week!

She may have scored 20 points in their last preseason game.
The team had high hopes for the state playoffs this year, but have lost two starters to ACL tears (nasty, nasty injury).  I think they can still make it, but the road won't be an easy one.

3.  T had a 6th grade basketball tournament last weekend.  It ended with a 3 point shootout.  Anyone could participate.  45 seconds, shoot as many 3 pointers as you can, provide your own rebounder.

And who did he choose to rebound?  His father?  Nope.  Why, A, of course!

She is a professional rebounder, after all.
The results weren't posted until two days after the competition.  T made 6, so we knew he did well...
He won for his age group!  It was most impressive, as the 7th and 8th grade winners made just 7 total baskets.

As a mom and stepmom, I absolutely loved that the kids did this together.  Making memories...moms dig this kind of stuff.

Mr. Winner with Ms. Rebounder

Aww, how sweet! It's really cool when you realize your kids are developing their own relationship, outside of "having" to be siblings.

Curious what you think of the next two books. I am having trouble finishing the last one.

How awesome the kids are excelling so much at, and really loving, basketball! So cool they get along so well.
